UPDATE & ACTION: Trump’s pushing hard to pass his health care bill; his travel ban is back (thanks to SCOTUS), and in his delusional bubble, he thinks he’s making progress. We can’t let fatigue slow us down! We’re back out there on Tuesday, 11:45, both locations!
TALKING POINTS : THE SENATE’S HEALTH CARE BILL will leave millions of Americans without insurance and thousands will die - including people right here in Hawaii. Our message to both Senators: keep fighting! Bury this bill in procedural muck. Load it down with amendments. Withhold unanimous consent for absolutely everything. Both of our Senators are vocal on the issue. But they have to do more. Use the Senate’s rules to keep it from ever seeing the light of day.
Also, what happened in front of McConnell’s office last week was a disgrace to the United States, and to the Senate. Denounce the behavior of McConnell and his cronies. Dragging sick Americans out of the capitol by their arms and legs may be what the GOP does, but it’s not what the rest of the country stands for.
EVERYTHING ELSE! This week is all about health care, but we’ll also remind our delegation to keep digging and keep pressing on other issues. When will Kushner testify? Why isn’t anyone pushing that harder? How do we protect our neighbors and friends with SCOTUS reinstating the travel ban (and we CANNOT allow the next SCOTUS nomination to get through. Start planning now!)
